A Mother’s Day Message to ALL Moms: JUNE Appreciates You

A Mother’s Day Message to ALL Moms: JUNE Appreciates You

Moms—we’ve got a message for you. Today and every other day, we are so thankful for you. We honor you, we appreciate you, and we see you.

Birth moms, step-moms, strong mom figures, guardians, adoptive parents—anyone who has proudly earned the title of mother by caring for, loving, and devoting themselves to the ones they consider their children.

The world—quite literally—wouldn’t be the way it is without your contributions, your sacrifice, and your love. We see your efforts everyday, your delicate balancing acts, your determination, and your devotion in all aspects of your life.

At JUNE, we want all moms to know how much we care every single day—that’s why so much of our product design has you in mind. So, this Mother’s Day, we want every mom to know that menstrual cups — like the JUNE cup and beyond— are for you.

We Design our Products with Moms of All Kinds in Mind

Part of that deep appreciation we have for mothers manifests itself in our products. Our cups are for everyone.

If you, like so many other moms out there, have heard that menstrual cups aren’t an option for you if you’ve given birth to a child, we’re here to tell you this—every single body is different and needs unique solutions, but being a mother doesn’t mean you can’t use a menstrual cup.

If you give birth to a child vaginally, your body needs time to heal and recover before you can use your cup again—but there’s no reason that you can’t resume using your cup once your doctor clears you.

While some menstruators might see the need to adjust their cup size after having children—which is very normal and totally healthy—it’s entirely possible that you might be able to continue using the same size cup you always have.

With that in mind, don’t be surprised if you find that some things have changed post-pregnancy. Some menstruators experience a difference in their cervix positioning or how their cup fits. A different size or different cup entirely could be the answer.

You should always check with your doctor before you resume using a cup after you’ve had a child. Otherwise, there’s no reason you, as a dynamite mom, can’t use period products that make your menstrual cycle more comfortable.

Mom Appreciation Day Should Be Every Day

We have so much appreciation for every mom out there. Birth moms, step-moms, strong mom figures, guardians, adoptive parents—anyone who has proudly earned the title of mother by caring for, loving, and devoting themselves to the ones they consider their children.

The beautiful gift of your guidance, your heart, and your soul is a present that surpasses all value.

Motherhood—in all its forms—is a beautiful balance of highs and lows, something that one of our JUNE cup team members has been learning the past few months since becoming a mother in late January.

Hedi Rappard, the Founder and CEO of JUNE, welcomed her first child in late January, and has learned with each day that motherhood is a journey punctuated by both bliss and hardship.

“I am absolutely smitten to be her mama but totally exhausted and sleep-deprived,” Hedi said. “The level of exhaustion you feel is next-level. You are so depleted physically, mentally, and emotionally—but somehow, you just do it!”

“There have been so many nights where I wake up 3-4 times to feed her and I look down at her and she’s just wide eyed - smiling back at me and my heart melts into a puddle and reminds me just how lucky I am to be here in the first place.”

For Hedi, being a mom is nothing like she imagined—her life changed forever, sure, but her heart expanded in ways she didn’t know possible.

“You feel a new sense of responsibility,” she said, “it may not all come at once, but when it does, it hits hard.”

The world tends to just expect mothers to be kickass moms, caretakers, breadwinners, and put-together humans who can do it all—nowadays, it feels like we just breeze by them without recognition when they seamlessly accomplish all of this and more.

This sacrifice, love, and devotion go so far beyond just the first few years of a child’s life—it’s a full-time job that never ends, even when your children grow up. JUNE believes that mothers of all kinds should be honored each and every day and appreciated for their continuous, infinite hustle and dedication.

Our advice? Honor the mothers in your life as often as possible—on Mother’s Day, of course, but beyond that. Join JUNE in our ever-evolving pursuit to share our appreciation and love for every mother out there—we see you, moms. None of us would be where we are without you.

And as for the newest mom on the JUNE team, Hedi is cup-ready as soon as her doctor gives her the go-ahead.

“Giving your body time to heal is important,” she said, “but there’s no reason you can’t resume your cup once you’re cleared by your doctor. I honestly cannot wait to start using my cup again.”
