If you're anything like me, you've been worrying. With the spread of Covid-19 it’s been pretty unnerving when you can't find toilet paper within a 20 mile radius for weeks on end and all the shelves of canned goods, pasta and frozen food have been picked clean.
Ten months ago, I started JUNE, selling menstrual cups as a safe and sustainable alternative to traditional menstrual care products. Still wondering why I started JUNE? Most of all, I wanted to take action in a way that made me feel like I was making a difference and to empower the community around me.
As you can imagine, traditional menstrual care products were selling fast and most stores I visited were already sold out. I didn't want anyone to stress about their period, either being unable to find menstrual care or being able to afford it. So I decided JUNE would offer our menstrual cups at cost ($6) so that all of you could check one more thing off your survival checklist.
Some of you may have already stocked up on traditional care products like pads and tampons, but may have always wanted to try a menstrual cup. Others have shared they knew someone who ran out and decided now was a great time to give it a try.
No matter the circumstance, I am overwhelmed by the outpouring of support JUNE has received from the community. Whether you purchased a cup for yourself, a sister, a mother, a daughter, a partner or friend or decided to take the time to donate a cup to someone in need, I am so excited that as a community we are making a difference. And that's truly why I started JUNE.
